Founded in 1992 by mystery author Janice Steinberg, Sisters in Crime/San Diego Chapter is dedicated to supporting women who write, read, sell or review crime fiction. Membership is open to all women and men who share this goal. We are a not-for-profit organization.
As defined in our bylaws, the purpose of Sisters in Crime is to combat discrimination against women in the mystery field, educate publishers and the general public as to inequalities in the treatment of female authors, to raise the level of awareness of their contributions to the field, and to promote women mystery writers. SinC San Diego is a non-profit organization.
